Up-to-date Care

This is what we hope to achieve at Shropshire Hills Vets.

We see all our clients and their animals as individuals and hope to tailor their care to their needs and your expectations.

We are a first opinion practice which means there may be occasions where your pet's best care is conducted by a specialist.   Under these circumstances we will arrange referal to a specialist practice.   It is for this reason that we encourage pet insurance - specialist care is expensive and full payment is usually required at the time of treatment.

Because we think that service is very important, we cover our own out of hours care.   The phone is diverted to an answering service to avoid the problems of poor mobile phone reception.   The answering service will pass your details onto the duty vet, who will then phone you back as soon as possible - usually within a matter of minutes.

In order to make the necessity of an out of hours call as rare as possible, we have surgeries every day of the year except Christmas Day and Easter Day.   These are meant for urgent needs but, by arrangement, the vet is usually willing to fit in a few routine consultations as well.

We are always happy to give you advice and reassurance on the phone.   If you are worried or in doubt about your pet's health, it is always best to check, that's what we are here for.
